Can the Pakatan Rakyat state government give a bonus of one-month salary or a minimum of RM1,000 to state civil servants?
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said the bonus payment of one-month salary or a minimum of RM1, 000 to be paid in two installments in September and December was in appreciation of the increased productivity and contribution by the 1.2 million public sector employees toward national development.
While tabled a RM207.9 billion people’s budget for 2009, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi calling on Malaysians to unite in the face of a global environment of higher prices and slower economic growth.
The budget stress on improving the public transport for the people, provided a social safety net for the poor, helped middle-income earners get a bigger disposable income, placed emphasis human capital development, strengthening national resilience, expanding tax exemptions, dishing out higher allowances and further provided for the development corridors' progress to boost national wealth in the years ahead.
